How Long Until I See Results?

Patients can see results immediately after the surgery but should wait until any swelling and bleeding has subsided to appreciate their results. It may take a year or more to fully realize the results of a body lift procedure. However, any lift procedure may be counteracted by substantial weight gain. Can I Combine a Body Lift with Other Procedures?

What to Expect on the Day of Body Lift Surgery

Dr. Hankins will give you specific pre-operative care instructions before your surgery. Patients are advised to make arrangements with a close friend or family member to help them return home from the surgery and assist during their recovery.

A body lift will be performed under general anesthesia and may take several hours to complete. Dr. Hankins will remove excess skin and fat in the targeted areas developed from the surgical plan.

Body Lift Recovery

Every person recovers differently, but generally, it takes approximately two weeks to resume a regular daily routine and up to six weeks for more strenuous activities. Dr. Hankins may instruct you to wear a compression garment for several weeks to protect the area and reduce body and leg swelling discomfort.
